Growth hormone (GH) is secreted by the anterior pituitary in response to GHRH from the hypothalamus. GH stimulates the liver to produce insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), which mediates many of GH’s anabolic and metabolic effects; including protein synthesis, lipolysis, glucose regulation, and tissue repair. GH and IGF-1 decline with age, a phenomenon sometimes called somatopause.
Sermorelin works upstream of GH by stimulating the body’s own pituitary release. Because it relies on an intact pituitary and preserves the physiologic negative-feedback loop, sermorelin is considered less likely to cause excessive GH elevation than direct recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) administration. Long-term safety data for compounded sermorelin in healthy adults are limited.
Do not use sermorelin if you:
Tell your provider before starting sermorelin if you:
Common side effects may include: injection-site redness, pain, or swelling; flushing; headache; dizziness; nausea; drowsiness; hyperactivity; pallor; transient tachycardia.
Serious but less common risks may include: hypersensitivity reaction, worsening of existing malignancy, glucose intolerance, adrenal insufficiency, and paradoxical effects in patients with primary pituitary disease.
This is not a complete list of side effects or contraindications. Compounded sermorelin is not FDA-approved for adult use. Periodic IGF-1 and glucose monitoring is recommended. Talk to a licensed healthcare provider before starting or continuing sermorelin.

Sermorelin is a growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analog that stimulates your pituitary to release its own growth hormone in a natural, pulsatile pattern. Synthetic human growth hormone (rhGH) directly supplies the hormone. Sermorelin preserves the body’s feedback loop, which many providers consider a more physiologic approach.
Sermorelin has been used clinically for decades, primarily for pediatric growth-hormone deficiency. Long-term safety data in healthy adults for longevity purposes are limited. Your provider will periodically monitor IGF-1 levels and overall health to guide duration of therapy.
Most people notice improvements in sleep quality and recovery within the first few weeks. Changes in body composition, energy, and skin quality typically take 3 to 6 months of consistent nightly dosing.
Sermorelin is contraindicated in individuals with active cancer, uncontrolled thyroid conditions, intracranial lesions, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Your provider will screen for these before initiating therapy.
Complete our online health assessment, share any recent IGF-1 or hormone labs, and connect with a licensed provider. If sermorelin is appropriate, your provider will develop a personalized protocol and ship your medication.
