Boxed Warning – Risk of Thyroid C-Cell Tumors. Tirzepatide causes dose-dependent and treatment-duration-dependent thyroid C-cell tumors in rats. It is unknown whether tirzepatide causes thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), in humans. Tirzepatide is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC and in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
Do not use if: personal or family history of MTC; MEN 2; prior serious allergic reaction to tirzepatide; pregnancy, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
Tell your provider if you have: pancreatitis, kidney disease, gallbladder disease, type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, gastroparesis, severe GI disease, or diabetic retinopathy; or you take insulin or sulfonylureas.
Common side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, indigestion, injection-site reactions, fatigue, hypoglycemia (with insulin or sulfonylureas).
Serious risks may include: pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, acute kidney injury, severe hypoglycemia, diabetic retinopathy complications, severe allergic reactions.
Warnings: TRT may increase risks of major adverse cardiovascular events, venous thromboembolism, polycythemia, and worsening of untreated sleep apnea. Not for men with breast or prostate cancer.
Tell your provider if you have: heart disease, stroke history, blood clots, sleep apnea, BPH, elevated PSA, or fertility concerns. TRT can suppress sperm production.
Common side effects: acne, fluid retention, mood changes, polycythemia, breast tenderness, injection-site reactions.
Warnings: Long-term use of estrogen/progestin may increase risks of breast cancer, stroke, blood clots, and dementia. Not for patients with breast cancer, unexplained vaginal bleeding, or active thromboembolism.
Tell your provider if you have: a history of cancer (breast, endometrial, ovarian), heart disease, stroke, liver disease, migraines, or clotting disorders.
Common side effects: breast tenderness, nausea, headaches, breakthrough bleeding, mood changes, fluid retention.
Warnings: HCG is contraindicated in pregnancy. May increase risks of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, thromboembolism, and multiple gestation.
Tell your provider if you have: a history of cancer, thromboembolism, heart disease, migraines, epilepsy, or kidney disease.
Common side effects: injection-site reactions, headache, irritability, fatigue, fluid retention, breast tenderness, acne.
Warnings: Limited long-term safety data. Contraindicated during active malignancy. Not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
